Condition Monitoring Through Sound Analysis

Sound vibration has similar characteristics of mechanical vibrations. Meanwhile it is not used too much because its result is affected by environmental noise. The analysis of air-borne sound has an advantage when no suitable measuring points are available or even possible on the machine. Sound analysis always makes sense when the causes of disturbing or unacceptable noise levels are to be identified. In addition, sound analysis within the framework of acceptance test agreements for new or repaired machines is also sometimes necessary.
